N E W S → 4-5 MIO EUR / 10 years initiative "Initiative Mobilitaetskultur = MOBILITY CULTURE INITIATIVE" supporting cooler & cleaner innovative transport concepts gets a logo designed by me. → SKala CAMPUS, a 4+ MIO EUR sideproject at the end of the historic 100 MIO EUR SKala Initiative by BMW owner Susanne Klatten gets a logo by yours truly. My original concepts worked at zero additional costs. |

Icon signet design and DVD version for Sunset del Mar. Originally they started out with just the typography. I developed the palmtree icon and looks for Merch. The DVD and CD got advertised with my artworks on VOX TV in Germany. |

:: Artworks for a national TV documentation county of Bavarias Bayerischer Rundfunk BR on the founders families of Bavaria, the Wittelsbachers. I needed a highres pic of their family signet from middleage but there was only a pixelated small photo from the 14th century so decision was made to recreate it printable - there you go - it had that middleage shape-language, their kinda clumbsy style to draw things back then in Germany but was now fully digital for any new application. Anyone loved the DVD :) :: Funfact: Yes, that BMW-Logo has its blue-and-white from just that signet. Little did I know that decades later I would even present Logodesigns for another project to BMW-Owner Susanne Klatten (I designed the original Logo for the SKala Initiative - the "SK" in "SKala" stands for "Susanne Klatten" - and presented the designs to her; we even talked about the BMW-Logo. That happened after her team was so amazed about my designs for the new initiative in the first presentation round, that they said they would invite her next time. And so it happened. I´ll add a bout about that project later, just good to see that people with possibilities engage by really putting money and efforts where it is needed to change things for the better. She even asked for more projects to support for the elderly herself during that time. And has my respect :) ). Kinda circle closing - one of the most famous signets and and of the most famous cardesign and carmaker brands. BUT, now also one of the biggest donors for good Causes in Germany. Beautiful to see how that business woman grew into the projects and found a new purpose with all the projects she supported through my employer. So next time you hear "BMW" you also know: They do a lot Good (and had one of the coolest first electric roadsters with the "i8" AND ... that Logo has deeper roots in Bavarias famous white-blue-pattern from an old family signet. And as a designer it´s also impressive to get again and again to know the people behind those brands - and their striving to do something Good too, often never reported about in the news. |

:: Logo design: A signet for the MOBILITY CULTURE INITIATIVE - in German Initiative Mobilitätskultur. The Logo closeup on a shirt. The initiative also got recognized by UMWELTBUNDESAMT - the ones with "Blauer Engel" (means Blue Angel"), one of the very first signets to mark products for customers that are produced clean and carefree for customers - since I grew up with that one in the news it was quite a honour to see that Logo of the initiative all together with their first call for the first 100.000 EUR grants on their website. I´ll add a sccreenshot here for you :)"). ALSO: The printing company which printed the SOCIAL IMPACT NAVIGATOR aka KURSBUCH WIRKUNG (the 150.000 copies book that I designed, layouted, illustrated and made real both as printed version and as eBook, see my other design cases) was the VERY first printing company in Germany to be certified for that Blauer Engel Signet throughout their whole printing process - on top of the multi-certified recycling papier we used. A good fit, since the book was also the first of its kind in Germany. And soon translated into more languages. |

:: running shirts In a world of some conflict (but many many who want peace) a running shirt for PEACE. Sportswear for corporate events - I ran myself quite a few mini runs and had the cam often with me to capture the creations in action, getting inspired and optimize them year after year so the run is both entertaining and a way to test new concepts too. The text is a play with words, it means
... I wrote this. People smiled anywhere reading this. Boring shirts do nothing. Entertaining shirts encourage, give energy and create smiles - thats my experience after many years taking part myself. (I once saw someone running dressed up as a dishwasher among several superhero lookalikes every year - it really depends on your imagination. In my case the company would pay the start fee, the production fee for the shirts and anything else was up to the runners. In this case here I even payed 3 of the shirts myself to make things happen. So I created designs over the years for each event in my free time, deleloped cartoons (see my illustration page). The pic is from the moments before the start.
:: Nice sideeeffect: We had finally shirts not only the runners at the event asked for but other collegues who did not part in the run but wanted to have one of these shirts too. Besides a wonderful way for employer branding and teambuilding, sports events - it doesn′t have to be a running event, it could be handball, basketball, volleyball, beachball, whatever folks like - are a cool way to grow your team TOGETHER. And the shirts are a wonderful memory, esp. if someone appears with them years later making the team smile again. |

:: Material tips: Sustainable fashion has become normal and COOL. If you know your PET bottle can be a comfy shirt, thats something to talk about. While the years before I used recycled PET bottles upcycled into shirts for the sportswear (check if your distributor has something alike and ask them for alternatives to one-use textiles), THIS year we tryed 100% organic cotton since the upcyling-PET-Bottle-shirts hadn′t been available that year.
:: Protip 1: Fashion brands like Stella McCartney offer meanwhile even fashion made from upcycled fishing gear from Oceancleanups. There are phantastic ways alike now, to raise the worth of your shirts and fashion and give people something to talk about). I have to admit I liked the wearability of the PET-upcycling shirts compared to the organic cotton shirts (the dark blue ones) more with their slightly glossy shine and comfy lightweight fabric. But on the long term it showed the team liked the organic (or bio as we say in Germany) shirts more - they had cool contrast and finally I gave mine and another one away for several collegues farewell over time (people asked for these shirts to become presents and I payed for the giveaways). |

:: You´ve heard about those running shirts. The team loved them. When some got a bambino, the rest of the team asked for a bib - in German Sabberlatz - in the style of the beloved running shirts set that I designed years ago. I had the illustrations already developed in my free time and cleaned for production. So now it was also about texting something for the bibs. That one was truly fun. For those new to me, I also created during my schooltime with friends a schoolpaper for six years. So besides designing and all the other disciplines texting is part of my routine for shortcopy. And making people smile with combining all together. Back to the bib: The bib on the left reads "don´t call it stain, call it IMPACT baby" referring on the positive impact of doing Good and charity. The other one reads "Thats ART!" already including later probably freqent random stains created by the bambinos eating meals I also payed for the production of these while the rest of the team payed for the stuffed present-table up with other things the new parents would use during the first time. Nice one. |

:: CHANEL has a charity foundation named FONDAÇION CHANEL (external website on CHANEL.com) that of course supports women. What a honour to design illustrations and this title signet for them. You find a few more illustrations from this on my illustration page. |

:: SIR PETER USTINOV Foundation & German Football League DFL Foundation (Back then BUNDESLIGA Stiftung/ Foundation) a.m.m. supported this report and the very first BERLIN INCLUSION SUMMI. I created lots of materials for this and developed a large set of pictograms, that a) raised attention beyond the event leading to requests for the icons & pictograms and was b) also in part used for later publications of the company. Both report and event became a big success bringing people together. You find a few more illustrations and details about it on my ILLUSTRATIONS & ART page. |

:: A project back then ahead of its time: A care project making care at home truly affordable while creating jobs AND give employees also a chance to gain a right for the German "Rente" (pension) too while working under german law with german workers rights (back then a novum since many care assistants would usually be employed in their homecountries at ridiculous low wages with almost no rights): "umsorge" care changed that for the better leading an example, that things could be different AND better.
In their model care assistants would NOT drive from house to house doing only a few care things in a dense timetable BUT live with the customers and care all day during their working hours. Less stress for both sides, a start for employees and an affordable model with win win for both sides creating jobs. My part: Logo design, some of the short copy during the design process (often I do write a first text-draft and many of those make it to the finalisation process. For instance the subtitle of the Book that I designed is just one of those First-design-text-suggestions. Even years before studies I did 6 years schoolpaper so writing first text drafts, claims and shortcopy is kinda natural part of my creation process, which speeds creation up and can safe a lot of costs, esp. if I have a hit with a suggestion (the subtitle for the book surely helped to get it more readers). I also designed first promo material during the initial pilotproject-phase from Logo package to Flyers, Webbanners and screendesign for the website. Their service was much needed and would pioneer what is needed at the core still today in the country: Care at home without the need of special care home facilities for as long as possible so people can age in dignity in their very own homes and with their pets arround and at best with their families while same time creating job opportunities without minimum-wages of other countries but a salary and a flat by german standards including german rights for workers. In that model care assistants would live WITH the patients, cook & care.
