Details

July 2010: Just arrived in the cool city Hamburg, enjoying a new, powerful international team and now working as Art Director similar to my experiences in Berlin but with more focus on landing pages and direct marketing.

From february 2007 until june 2010 I worked as a Junior Art Director in a successful advertising and communication agency right in the heart of Berlin. I created for print media, fairs, from corporate design to campaigns, interface design projects (Flash, handwritten HTML, CMS like Typo3 incl. editing workshops for our clients, Dynasite by TCS) and even search engine optimization (S.E.O.) for websites.

Before that you could have seen me working since 2002 in a mediacompany in the mediacity Potsdam-Babelsberg doing projects concerning packaging design, corporate design, advertising and most of the prepress of our products.

I create my projects from the very first sketches to the final products.

Including final draft ... I designed many DVD-artworks, ads, concepts, made storyboards and 3D packshot animations for TV ads for customers like UNIVERSAL MUSIC, Sat.1 (german TV station), DFL (German Soccer Ligue), BUNDESLIGA and many more. Its always interesting work and new international contacts each day.

From 1997 to 2002 I studied Design in the town of the BAUHAUS, Dessau, Germany. Some more information about that you might have read in the studies-section of this site. Besides that I worked for BFK Hamburg, a fine Hamburg agency depending and created their web appearance and some presentations. Looking back: Before that I had some practical experience in a Potsdam advertisment company for a little more than six months.

From 1996 to 1997 I did my civil service in a hospital in Potsdam. During my time there I won the second place for designing a logo for the house (and bought my first two books about basic graphicdesign from the money :-) ). At this time there was also space for nude- and natural sketching in a course, which I miss a bit today.

School was over for me in 1995 when I did my final exame (german "Abitur"). During my time in school I worked for about 5 years in layout, drawing, picturing and finally writing for our schoolpaper. Since 1990 I did this mostly on my first computer, an ATARI ST. Beside this I also was involved for one year in our schoolradio.

Yes, I truly do indeed practise other activities than only cooking with Flash and Indesign such as: photography, table tennis, volleyball, biking, swimming, drawing and painting.

My current interests: natural sciences such as astronomy, biology, product design, interactive media, especially interfacedesign and design in any case, even car design and architectural design.

Actual books I´m reading at the moment:

"A Short History Of Nearly Everything"
by Bill Bryson. Simply great. I would like to see teachers reading out of this book in the schools.

"The Elegant Universe"
by Brian Greene. If you want to know more after Steven Hawkings "A short story of time" or "Universe in a nutshell", this could be one of your next books.

"SAARINEN"
by Pierluigi Serraino - about the architect
Saarinen. Inspiring: Organic shapes meet - in those times - hypermodern architecture. I cant´t get enough of that. One day I´ll design a building too. :-)
